Khaosan Road

This is home to a very lively traveler's scene, and a mass of budget accommodation is here. It's worth walking down even if you don't plan to stay here. Love it or hate it, here is what you can expect on Khaosan Road: an extensive market with a huge range of goods, from cheap clothes to Thai handicrafts, many inexpensive restaurants, and travelers and locals in search of a unique experience. Somewhat surprisingly, the nearby backstreets retain a genuinely Thai feeling, perhaps much more so than other areas in Bangkok.

One note...Khao Sarn road appeared in the beginning of the film "The Beach". For hardcore fans of this film, there is no snake's blood drink though...Sorry for the disappointment!
